Are Organic Foods Healthier?
Studies show no strong evidence suggesting that this is the case.
However, organic foods were found to have 30% lower pesticide residues than conventional foods.
BUT… Levels in both organic and non-organic foods were within the ‘allowable safe limits’.
Test in organic chicken and pork were also about a third less likely to contain antibiotic-resistant bacteria than conventionally raised chicken and pork.
However, food poisoning causing bacteria was equally present in both food types.
No evidence to suggest organic contains more nutrients and lack of evidence of a negative effect for this.
Price - Organic is generally more expensive!
It is all down to personal choice! What you feel comfortable with and what you can afford!
